BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAM

The Basic Education Program de Sta. Isabel envisions an integrated systematic effort of spiritual, social, emotional and academic formation in achieving and maintaining a level of student development that is total and at the same time, functional and relevant. It is an innovation geared primarily towards providing a systems approach to education.

The Basic Education Program is characterized by an integrated and coordinated curriculum from Kinder to Grade 10 permeated by its Vision-Mission with Christian Living Program as the core and the Community Extension Services as its direct laboratory experience with persons in situations of poverty.

DEPARTMENTAL GOALS

The program of the BASIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT is geared towards the total development of students. Guided by the ideals of St. Louise de Marillac and St. Vincent de Paul, the Department aims to provide, spiritual and character formation; quality instruction; varied and adequate learning experiences to equip students with 21st century skills; develop students into inner directed individuals, Vincentian leaders, and advocates of persons who are in poverty situations.

Objectives

  1. Provide a Christian Vincentian education:
  • that is anchored on the tenet of God as the origin, center and end of one's life;
  • that will make students aware and promote their Filipino identity and appreciate one's culture, history, and traditions.
  1. Enable learners acquire mastery of knowledge, understanding, 21st century skills and attitudes necessary for college level education; proficiency in written and oral communication, comprehension skills, critical reflection, thinking skills, ability to relate with people from all walks of life.
  2. Train students to acquire desirable habits of cleanliness and orderliness; practice honesty, thriftiness and punctuality; and show cheerfulness, gentleness and refinement in manners; exhibit social graces; and promote health practices as growing young Filipinos.
  3. Provide learning experiences that will promote respect and service for persons in poverty situation.
