Universidad de Sta. Isabel (USI) formerly named as Colegio de Sta. Isabel (CSI) was founded by Bishop Francisco Gainza on November 5, 1867.It has been giving its educational service to the Bicol Region for 147 years producing graduates who are excellent in their fields. It is managed by the Daughters of Charity of the Philippine Province.
The Colegio de Sta. Isabel (CSI) College Department focused on education of women through the Bachelor degrees in Secondary Education which was granted by Secretary Prudencio Langacuon on June 8, 1949 and Bachelor degree in Elementary Education which was granted by Secretary G. Hernandez Jr. on April 26, 1955.
For many years, Universidad de Sta. Isabel Teacher Education Department produces teachers who are the best in their fields of specializations and carry the Catholic Vincentian values. It is a member of Philippine Association for Teacher
Education (PAFTE) for many years. Because of its continues endeavour of improving its facilities and updates itself with the new tends in the field of education to cope with the demands of the society, it was granted with the seal of Center of Excellence by the Commission on Higher Education in 2012.
